Accommodation in our flat in St. Petersburg

Location: Grivtsova ul, by Sennaya Square, is in the centre of St Petersburg, in a very old part of the city. It is known as the Dostoyevsky district, and many landmarks mentioned in his books are to be found there. Some say the district has not changed much since his time. Nevsky Prospekt and the Hermitage Museum are a 15 minute walk and St Isaac's Cathedral is just 5 minutes away.
Nearest metro stations are Saddovaya and Sennaya Plochet.

Shopping: Sennaya square is well known as the cheapest market place in the city, and you will see many kiosks near the metro station which sell most foods. There are also several good shops in the area where you can buy whatever you need. Don’t miss a visit to the new covered market just off the square along Moskovsky Street – a marvellous selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, cheeses, exotic spices and herbs, and clothes, new and second hand. Do make time to wander in the area, as its full of colourful local characters. Walk along Griboyedova Canal and you will reach Nevsky Prospekt within 15 minutes, near the big shopping mall, Gostiny Dvor. You can walk to most places of interest from our flat or take a trolleybus or the metro.

Places of interest: A visit to the Hermitage Art Museum is a must; it’s within walking distance. Allow a whole day, as it is the most exceptional place. Other favourites are the Russian Museum, the Folk Art Museum next door, and the Maly or Mariinsky Theatres for ballet. And of course St Isaac’s Cathedral and Smolny Cathedral. Do visit at least one of the palaces - the Summer Palace at Peterhof with its gardens and fountains, Pavlovsk or Tsarskoe Selo at Pushkin, all accessible by train or bus. On Nevsky Prospekt there are lots of restaurants, bars and coffee places, and some good antique shops as well. Prices are in line with western prices in most of them but you might be lucky and find a cheap Russian restaurant that is worth a try, for the experience.

Cost: Our flat has been recently renovated and provides clean, secure and inexpensive furnished accommodation in a convenient, central location with all the basic amenities needed. It sleeps 4 and is available for £165 per week for 2 people, £220 for 4 people.
